Taking Back Our Streets
We proactively patrol the area and crime hotspots and will respond to any emergency situation at your house or in public open spaces, usually in under 3 minutes.
We also offer roadside assistance and security for you if your car breaks down in and around the area.
The TCWT is also involved in supporting the Tygerhof Neighbourhood Watch and their patrollers.
We actively analyse crime patterns, visit crime scenes, follow up on cases and tailoring our response to the ever evolving face of crime.
If TCWT did not exist, criminals would enter our space, drugs and theft would take over and our property values would decline.

Safety In Your Surroundings
Partnering up with Crime Watch SA has allowed TCWT to be able to provide members with armed response security officers. This ensures that when an incident occurs at your premises an armed response team will arrive.
Armed response officers are here to protect you. They are on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year , offering you around-the-clock complete peace of mind.
[dt_sc_toggle_group style=”frame” class=”simple”][dt_sc_toggle title=”Will the new vehicle be dedicated to the Tygerhof suburb?”]YES, ABSOLUTELY! As per the arrangement between TCWT and Crime Watch SA, a brand new vehicle has been purchased and will be dedicated to our suburb. There might be a need from time to time whereby our patrol vehicle might have to go and assist close by, but the vehicle will be back in the area ASAP. That said, in the event our patrol vehicle requires additional assistance, Crime Watch SA will deploy additional patrollers/vehicles to assist in our area too.[/dt_sc_toggle][dt_sc_toggle title=”How long will it take the armed reaction vehicle respond?”]By having a dedicated patrol vehicle in our neighbourhood of Tygerhof, we strive to keep the response time as short as possible. TCWT are constantly trying to improve the reaction times and aim to respond within 3 minutes.[/dt_sc_toggle][dt_sc_toggle title=”I have been told that the best way to test your reaction time is to press my panic button, is this true?”]We strongly discourage this practice. A panic signal is the highest priority signal and should only be activated in an extreme emergency. One of the biggest problems facing the Armed Response industry is false alarms. In fact the majority of call outs we attend to are false alarms – this impacts dramatically on our ability to attend to real emergencies.[/dt_sc_toggle][dt_sc_toggle title=”I see the patrol vehicle parked on the side of the road, why do they not patrol all of the time?”]While we do encourage the officers to patrol, it is not physically practical for a Response Officer to drive continuously for the full 12 hour duration of their shift. They do need to take a break occasionally and when they do they are required to stand-down at a central location from which they can respond.[/dt_sc_toggle][dt_sc_toggle title=”Doe the Patrol Officers have powers of arrest?”]The Patrol Officers have the same legal rights as an ordinary citizen. They are however well versed in the Criminal Procedure Act and know when and where they can exercise their rights.[/dt_sc_toggle][dt_sc_toggle title=”What is the cost of the escort service?”]There is no charge for the occasional escort service.[/dt_sc_toggle][dt_sc_toggle title=”Will the Patrol Officer escort me into my property if I am nervous?”]Yes. TCWT clients all enjoy the benefits of an armed escort service. The Patrol Officer will meet you at your gate and ensure that you are safe. We do however request that that you give our partner, Crime Watch SA, sufficient notice of the request (half an hour) and understand that alarm activations will always take priority.[/dt_sc_toggle][/dt_sc_toggle_group][/dt_sc_tab][dt_sc_tab icon_type=”fontawesome” title=”Alarm Monitoring” tab_id=”1530861886142-5-3″ icon=”fas fa-bell”]
Ensuring Your Home Is Protected 24/7/365
Alarms have proven to be one of the best deterrents against crime. When you have an alarm you are guaranteed to receive an alert when suspicious activity happens at your premises.
While TCWT does not offer an alarm monitoring service, our partner, Crime Watch SA are able to link you to their control rooms via phones lines or radio transmitters.
[dt_sc_toggle_group style=”frame” class=”simple”][dt_sc_toggle title=”How does an alarm report to the Control Room?”]A basic alarm system communicates over your regular telephone line. When the alarm activates it seizes (takes priority over) your handsets, makes a call to the Control Room base station which answers the call and decodes the message from your alarm panel. The decoded signal is sent to the Control Room operator’s computer and placed on “stack” according to priority (panic & duress signals are high priority and handled before low battery signals). The same system would apply if a radio link is used over that of a telephone line.[/dt_sc_toggle][dt_sc_toggle title=”How long does it take my alarm system to contact the Control Room?”]This depends on which zone was activated. Certain zones are programmed to have a time delay in order to give the user sufficient time to disarm the system in order to prevent an false alarm. In this case it depends on how much time was programmed into the system when it was originally installed, but can range from a few seconds up to a few minutes. Most zones will be set to “instant”, in which case it takes only seconds for the alarm to report to the control room.[/dt_sc_toggle][dt_sc_toggle title=”What if I accidentally set my alarm off?”]Simply enter your four-digit user code to turn off the siren. The Control Room will call shortly. Give them your password / challenge code and tell them you accidentally tripped your alarm.[/dt_sc_toggle][dt_sc_toggle title=”What happens if I cannot be reached in case of an alarm?”]At the time of the alarm installation or system take-over you provided our partner, Crime Watch SA, with an Emergency Contact list of two or more individuals that will be contacted in case you cannot be reached.
Either way, the patrol vehicle is dispatched before trying to contact you.[/dt_sc_toggle][/dt_sc_toggle_group][/dt_sc_tab][dt_sc_tab icon_type=”fontawesome” title=”CCTV Cameras” tab_id=”1530861887349-6-3″ icon=”fas fa-video”]
Protect Your Home From Anywhere
Protect your home and loved ones by investing in a Closed Circuit Television System, more commonly known as CCTV, which expands visual surveillance capabilities and permanently records activities.
In the progressive era we live in, we can use some of the technological advances to help protect your home from losses and vandalism. A surveillance camera monitors the area surrounding your property and even sensitive areas within your property where you feel that extra security is required, and can monitor the entry and exit of people or vehicles.
This service is offered by our partner, Crime Watch SA and they can be contacted directly for any enquiries relating to CCTV cameras.
